ladder 118you walk into a fire house for your first day on the job you see [[ladder 118]] and [[engine 118]].
the ladder runs nearly 3000 calls a year
the engine runs nearly 3500 a year
the captain walks over and greet you and asks if you wanna take a tour of the trucks after you talk to captain he gives you your gear and your position on the truck it will be the [[engine]] or the [[ladder]]

2nd due engine is to ensure [[water supply]] to 1st due engine and stretch a secondary handline if necessary the ladder company or truck company is tasked with forcible entry, search and rescue and [[ventilation]]

know know that you know this stuff you are ready to go on your first [[call]] some ways a ladder company can ventilate is by vertical ventilation which is cutting a hole in the roof, strategically breaking out windowsthe gong sounds you run down the pole jump in your gear and jump in the engine and now racing to the scene of a working house fire with flames shooting out the bravo side you jump out of the engine and grab a crosslay and run to the front door. you mask up and call for water you get water and make [[entry.]]the most common method of fire suppresion is taking heat away from the fuels the most common substanced used is water. engine company will set up a [[water supply]] so they have enough water to fight the fire inside the burning house tempetures are intense, low visability thick black smoke with the training you know and the knowlege you know you are thinking what should i do? pretty soon you recall when visability is low intense heat and thick black smoke you realize there is about to be a flashover so you change your nozzle patern to a fog stream by remembering the saying right to fight left for life so you put your nozzle on fog and lay down spraying straight up putting a protective cover of water over you just as you do this the room [[flashes over]] the entire room instantly engulfed in flames
<img src=https://live.staticflickr.com/175/420597441_2961f23d71_n.jpg/><img src=http://cdn.globalfireresearch.com/media/k2/items/cache/cef8e7ed10ffa07bd8535ec35e230013_XL.jpg?1441802748/>
now that the flashover happened you can now get back up and fight the fire after a while of fighting the fire visibility gets better and it starts to cool down pretty soon you get the fire out after you get out of the building everyone runs up to you and surrounds you cheering. after that you go back to [[station]].after you get back you get cleaned up just in time for another run but this time its a medical run which means the ambulance goes to this call. then after the medical run you return to the station for a [[meal]]
<img src=https://aemstatic-ww1.azureedge.net/content/jems/en/articles/news/2019/03/rev-group-announces-fdny-order-of-76-more-eco-friendly-ambulances/_jcr_content/leftcolumn/article/headerimage.img.jpg/1551966668467.jpg/>now that you are back to the station you can eat dinner then menu is [[pizza]] or [[tacos]]now that you are done with dinner it is time to lay down and get some [[rest]] before another run now after you ate its time to lay down and get some [[rest]] before there is another runthis is the end hope you enjoyed!!! by Hunter Mason
